What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an area of activity that can involve fun and laughter, but it can also have a serious purpose – for example, ceremonies, religious festivals or satire. It can also be used to inspire other activities – for instance, the Scheherazade story in the Persian professional storytelling tradition has been adapted as an orchestral work by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski, as a film by Pasolini, and even as an innovative video game.

The most base form of entertainment is probably dogfighting, which involves animals that are bred to fight and killed for fun and profit. It hits on themes the human brain was evolved to react deeply to – social backstabbing, murders and similar topics.
